Expressing Yourself

I don’t have to tell you guys that everyone expresses themselves differently… you all know. Whether it is with music, with words, hand signals, with painting, with sports, or writing (even to yourself). All of these are great options. I find music probably the most enjoyable for me. I love to sing, to play my instrument, and dancing very enjoyable (even if I’m not so good at the dancing part just yet). How do you express yourself?

Some people don’t express themselves because they are afraid of being hurt. If they open themselves up, that someone would take advantage of them when they are vulnerable. And I just want to say, even if it happens to be one of you that is reading this… I hope you find someone that you trust enough to eventually let them in and know they won’t take advantage of you.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Goofy in a busy World

I had intended to be more diligent in writing a post once or twice a week, but things are more busy than I thought they would be. At work, mostly, because deadlines have been extended, and then when I get home I just want to rest. But here is something I want to share:

For a few months now there has been a flock of turkeys wandering the area around my work. So I’m leaving one day earlier this week, and there are two males meandering about… gobbling like they do. A few years ago, my aunt had taught me how to mimic one. So feeling silly, I make the sound…. and they actually gobbled back! Excited, I did it a couple more times, and each time they responded immediately. Definitely a good moment I needed this week 🙂

I still try to be goofy when I can, especially with those I am comfortable with. When I was younger, and on occasion still, I can quote and imitate movie/TV show characters. My favorite is probably Smeagol from Lord of the Rings… and that might be because it surprises whoever I do it in front of.

Well, I’m going to go now. Have a great weekend, everyone

Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
